Ride A Pet Mutations: All 8 & Multipliers
All 8 mutations in Ride A Pet and their multipliers: Shocked 2x, Gold 2x, Volted 3x, Diamond 3x, Rage 4x, Rainbow 10x, Void 10x, and Eternal 100x.
Last updated:
Mutations are Ride A Pet's income multiplier system: eight mutations, granted through weather events, that multiply what a pet earns on your plot. They run from Shocked at 2x to Eternal at 100x — a range wide enough that a single high mutation changes your entire economy. This page is the full table and the strategy around it.
The full mutation table
Eight mutations exist as of the Mutations update, now documented across the major guides (Pro Game Guides, TechWiser, MrGuider, Sportskeeda). They arrive through two different sources — five from weather events, three from hatching:
| Mutation | Multiplier | Source | Confidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shocked | 2x | Weather event | Confirmed (multiple guides) |
| Gold | 2x | Hatched from eggs | Confirmed (a minority of guides list 3x; most say 2x) |
| Volted | 3x | Weather event | Confirmed (multiple guides) |
| Diamond | 3x | Hatched from eggs | Multi-guide consensus |
| Rage | 4x | Weather event | Multi-guide consensus |
| Rainbow | 10x | Hatched from eggs | Multi-guide consensus |
| Void | 10x | Weather event | Multi-guide consensus |
| Eternal | 100x | Weather event | Confirmed (top of the range) |
The range endpoints are the load-bearing numbers: the floor is Shocked and Gold at 2x, the ceiling is Eternal at 100x. The mid-table matters too — Rainbow and Void at 10x are the realistic jackpot tier for most players, since Eternal-class weather storms are rare.
Where mutations come from: two systems
Mutations reach your pets through two different mechanisms, and knowing which is which matters because you can plan around one and only reroll the other:
- Weather mutations (Shocked, Volted, Rage, Void, Eternal). When a weather event starts, it lasts five minutes, and pets caught in the window can pick up that event's mutation. These are the mutations you farm and reroll.
- Hatched mutations (Gold, Diamond, Rainbow). These roll when an egg hatches — a lucky hatch can land a pet with Gold or better straight out of the egg. You cannot farm these; you can only hatch more.
Why the distinction matters
The Mutation Machine rerolls apply to weather mutations — hatched mutations are baked into the pet. If a guide tells you to "reroll eggs for mutations," it has confused the two systems: eggs roll Gold/Diamond/Rainbow on hatch, weather grants the other five.
What mutations multiply
A mutation multiplies a pet's earnings and value. Two consequences:
- Nest income scales violently. A Phoenix already earns about 100,000 cash per second; a high-tier mutation turns that into a sixth or seven-figure sum. This is why endgame money guides start with "get your best earner mutated."
- Trading value scales with it. The community Discord runs trading channels where mutation tier is the primary price factor.
The step-by-step process — positioning pets before the event, rerolling at the Mutation Machine, budgeting rerolls — is in the how to mutate pets guide.
The mutation economy
Mutation multipliers stack with the rest of your economy, not instead of it:
- Plot income = pet base income × mutation multiplier.
- Rebirth multipliers then multiply your cash gains again (up to +7x per second after Rebirth 7 by community counts).
- Version boosts like the Update 2 x2 Cash event apply on top while active.
This is why the late game is a multiplier-hunting loop: rebirth for permanent money multipliers, weather events for pet mutations, and rare eggs for pets worth mutating. The rebirth guide and the money guide cover the other two layers.
Which pets to mutate
One rule: mutate your best nest earner first. The multiplier applies to the pet's income, so the biggest base gain wins — usually your Phoenix-class pet, eventually your Dragon. Mount pets can wait; they earn nothing while riding.
Rerolling at the Mutation Machine
The Mutation Machine rerolls a pet's mutation for a cost. Community guidance:
- Reroll toward the top of the table — even Volted at 3x over a 2x is meaningful, and Eternal at 100x is a jackpot.
- Set a reroll budget per session. Costs accumulate, and the exact reroll pricing is unconfirmed in the sources we track, so treat early rerolls as exploratory.
- Do not reroll mount pets. Their value is speed, and the machine only moves their income multiplier.
Weather event discipline
Five-minute windows reward preparation:
- Know which pets you want mutated before the event starts.
- Keep them out of long egg hauls during event windows.
- If the event is a low-tier storm, skip the reroll budget and wait for the next one.

Why mutations matter more than almost anything late
Every economy in Ride A Pet eventually hits the same wall: pet base income grows slowly, and rebirth multipliers arrive on a schedule. Mutations are the multiplier you control week to week. A 100x Eternal on your best earner does not incrementally improve your income — it redefines it, which is why endgame money guides treat weather events as appointments rather than ambience.
The five-minute window, respectably used
Weather events last five minutes. That is enough time to mutate a prepared pet and nothing more. The prepared player has already decided which pet is getting the roll, has it standing on the plot, and has a reroll budget set. The unprepared player is mid-haul on the far side of the map. The mutation system rewards the same skill as rare egg racing — reading the server's clock — through a completely different mechanism.
Mutation tier priorities
Not all rolls deserve the same reaction:
| Roll | Correct response |
|---|---|
| 2x (Shocked, Gold) | Fine from a weak storm; reroll candidate from a strong one |
| 3x (Volted, Diamond) | Keep in most storms; the breakpoint where income visibly jumps |
| 4x (Rage) | Solid result — hold unless a Void/Eternal window is imminent |
| 10x (Rainbow, Void) | Jackpot tier for most players — protect the pet |
| Eternal (100x) | The ceiling. Protect the pet; it is now your economy's center of gravity |
Interactions with every other system
- Nests. The multiplier applies to the pet's plot income, so it compounds with every income upgrade you will ever make.
- Rebirths. Permanent cash multipliers stack on top of mutated income — the rebirth guide covers the ladder.
- Trading. The Discord's trading channels price mutations directly; high tiers are portable wealth.
- Eggs. No interaction — mutations never roll at hatch, and any guide saying otherwise has confused two systems.
Frequently asked questions
What are all the mutations in Ride A Pet? All eight, with multipliers: Shocked 2x, Gold 2x, Volted 3x, Diamond 3x, Rage 4x, Rainbow 10x, Void 10x, and Eternal 100x. Five come from weather events; Gold, Diamond, and Rainbow roll when eggs hatch.
How many mutations are there? Eight as of the Mutations update, all now named and documented across the major guides.
What is the best mutation in the game? Eternal at 100x, confirmed as the top of the range. Rainbow and Void at 10x are the realistic top tier for most players.
Can I remove a mutation I dislike? The Mutation Machine rerolls rather than removes — expect a result, not a blank slate.
Do eggs hatch with mutations? Yes — Gold, Diamond, and Rainbow are hatched mutations that roll at hatch time. The other five attach only through weather events; no confirmed source describes hatching Shocked or Eternal directly.
