Rarity groups
Community resources split the roster from starter commons up to secret-tier hatches, with Ethereal as the confirmed top rarity:
- Starter commons — Chicken, Pig, Snail, Sloth, and similar. These hatch from the inner rings and fill your first nests.
- Mid-tier animals — Horse, Deer, Kangaroo, Ostrich and the rest of the recognizable zoo. The workhorses of the Forest ring.
- Speed tier — Cheetah, Unicorn, T-Rex, Cerberus, Phoenix. The mounts that unlock Desert and Snow.
- Ethereal — Kitsune and Phoenix sit here; Kitsune is the game's fastest mount at roughly one billion speed with a base hatch chance of 1 in 1Qi.
- Dragon — hatched only from the Dragon Egg, and the other half of the endgame duo.
Anchor stats worth memorizing
| Pet | Confirmed stat | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Kitsune | ~1,000,000,000 speed, 1 in 1Qi hatch, Ethereal | Community stat pages |
| Phoenix | 1 in 30T hatch, 1M base speed, 146 jump, 10kg, 100,000 income/s | Fandom wiki |
| Horse, Fox, Unicorn | Required pets for Rebirths 1-3 | Multiple guides |
The Phoenix row is the template for how pet pages read: hatch chance, speed, jump, weight, and income per second. Two of those matter for gameplay — speed (how far you can ride) and income (what the pet earns on your plot).
Mounts versus earners
Every pet has two jobs available: carry you, or sit in a nest. The right question is never "is this pet good?" but "is this pet better at riding or earning?" A Cheetah is a strong early mount; the same Cheetah in a nest is probably wasted if you have hatched anything with a better income stat. Swap constantly.
Rebirth-chain pets
Three pets in the list are special because the rebirth system requires them: a Horse for Rebirth 1, a Fox for Rebirth 2, and a Unicorn for Rebirth 3. Keep one of each — the community's most common expensive mistake is hatching or trading away a pet that a future rebirth will demand. The rebirth requirements page has the full ladder.
Pets tied to eggs
Several pets are gated behind specific eggs rather than the general spawn pool: Dragon comes from the Dragon Egg, and the Zen Egg is associated with Red Kitsune variants in community videos (that variant link is still unconfirmed). Event eggs appear in limited windows and hatch event-exclusive pets.
Which pets to chase, in order
- Anything that fills an empty nest — early on, more income beats better income.
- Cheetah, then Unicorn — the first real speed gates.
- Phoenix — the mid-game income and speed benchmark.
- Dragon, then Kitsune — the endgame pair, covered in the dragon guide and the kitsune guide.
How to use the list
Thirty pets is a lot to evaluate, so the practical approach is filtering by your current question. "What should I ride?" starts at the fastest pets ranking. "What should go in my nest?" starts at income stats and the best pets guide. "What am I missing?" is this page, checked against your collection.
Egg sources at a glance
Every pet enters your collection through an egg, and the eggs are layered by the map rings: Starter and Meadow commons hatch the early roster, Forest through Snow hatch the mid-tier and speed tier, and named eggs gate the top end. The named eggs worth memorizing: Dragon Egg (Dragon only), the announcement eggs Blackhole and Cherub, the radar-trackable Solaris Egg, and the premium Zen Egg tied in community videos to Red Kitsune variants (unconfirmed). Spawn details live in the egg locations guide.
Stat sheet format
Community stat sheets list five values per pet — hatch chance, base speed, jump, weight, and income per second. A worked example shows what they mean in practice: Phoenix is 1 in 30T to hatch, with 1M base speed, 146 jump, 10kg weight, and 100,000 income per second. Speed and jump describe the mount; income describes the nest; hatch chance tells you how long the project takes.
Collection milestones
A sensible collection checklist, in the order players usually hit them:
- First full nest line — every slot filled with your best current earner.
- Cheetah — the first mount that changes how the map feels.
- Unicorn — Desert ring access and the Rebirth 3 key.
- Phoenix — the income benchmark and a legitimate endgame-adjacent mount.
- Cerberus and Dragon — the Snow-ring answer and the first S-tier pet.
- Kitsune — the speed ceiling, at 1 in 1Qi, for collectors who finish what they start.
Frequently asked questions
How many pets are in Ride A Pet? Thirty at launch, per the community's per-pet pages, with event eggs adding limited-time hatches on top.
Do pets level up or evolve? The progression systems are mutations (income multipliers) and your own rebirths — there is no confirmed per-pet leveling in the sources we track.
What is the rarest pet? By confirmed hatch chances, Kitsune at 1 in 1Qi is the ceiling; the Dragon's exact odds are unconfirmed but documented in player videos as a similar order of magnitude.
Where do I see a pet's stats in game? The hatched pet's info panel mirrors the stat-sheet categories; the community sheets aggregate them for comparison.
