This tier list ranks the Ride A Pet roster by real stats — speed for mounts, income for nests — using community stat sheets and the popular all-30-pets video rankings as sources. It is updated per patch because mutation changes and new eggs shift values. Current data version: September 2026.
How to read this list
Ride A Pet pets have two jobs, so one flat ranking misleads. The tiers below rank overall value with the role noted. Where the community has not converged on exact numbers for a pet, it is placed by consensus tier rather than fabricated stats.
S tier — the endgame pair
Kitsune and Dragon are the only pets the entire community agrees on. Kitsune's roughly one-billion speed makes every other mount obsolete for riding; Dragon holds top-tier value in both roles. Both are long-term projects — Kitsune hatches at a base 1 in 1Qi from eggs, and Dragon only comes from the Dragon Egg.
A tier — the Snow-ring engine room
Cerberus, Phoenix, T-Rex, and Unicorn are the mounts that make the outer rings routine. Phoenix doubles as the income benchmark at 100,000 cash per second. Unicorn has a second life as the Rebirth 3 requirement — never trade your last one.
B tier — specialists and ladder pets
Cheetah is the first speed upgrade that feels dramatic. Horse and Fox rank here not for stats but for ladder value: they are required for Rebirths 1 and 2. The remaining mid-tier animals fill nests fine in the mid-game but are replaced as Ethereal income arrives.
C tier — the starting roster
Starter commons exist to be replaced. They still matter in the first hour — an occupied nest with a weak pet out-earns an empty nest — but nothing here survives the Snow ring.
What moves pets between tiers
- Mutation updates. Income pets scale with mutation multipliers (2x to 100x), so mutation-friendly high earners gain value.
- New eggs or events. Event eggs hatch limited pets that can shake up a tier overnight.
- Speed rebalances. A patch that changes mount speed reorders the entire riding column.

Methodology
Tier placements aggregate three source types that agree with each other more often than not: maintained stat sheets (hatch chance, speed, jump, weight, income), full-roster video rankings built on those stats, and stage-by-stage progression guides from the community wikis. A pet moves tiers when at least two sources move it. Single-source numbers never move a tier on their own — they are flagged unconfirmed in the pet's guide instead.
The S-tier tie, explained
Most tier lists force a single champion. This one does not, because Ride A Pet's endgame genuinely has two answers. Kitsune is the fastest mount in the game by an order of magnitude — roughly one billion speed — and rates S+ on speed and jump together. Dragon matches the practical value from a defined, budgetable egg. If your account can only finish one project this month, Dragon is the usual recommendation; if you are optimizing for what the game measures, speed, Kitsune is the ceiling.
The A-tier engine room
Cerberus, Phoenix, T-Rex, and Unicorn are listed together because they solve the same problem — the Snow ring — from different angles. Phoenix brings confirmed 100K-per-second income and 1M base speed. Unicorn brings ring access plus its second life as the Rebirth 3 requirement. Cerberus and T-Rex are pure riding value. If your account is stuck, the missing piece is usually one of these four.
Why B and C tiers are honest, not insulting
B-tier pets are specialists: Cheetah is the best first speed jump in the game, and Horse and Fox are mandatory rebirth keys whose placement reflects ladder value more than stats. C-tier commons are the income floor of your first hour — nothing in Ride A Pet is useless, because even the weakest pet beats an empty nest. The list is a power ranking, not a disposal guide.
Patch sensitivity
Two systems move this list: mutation updates, which reorder nest value by multiplying income up to 100x, and any future speed rebalance, which reorders the riding column directly. Event eggs can also inject limited-time pets. The list carries its check date for exactly this reason — September 2026, post-Mutations update, during the Update 2 window.
Community tier resources
If you want a second opinion, the space has several: vote-based community tier lists that update per patch, real-stat video rankings of all thirty pets, and stage guides that rank by progression band instead of overall value. Where they disagree with this list, the disagreement is usually about role weighting — speed-first versus income-first — not about the underlying numbers.
